I am just sad at how we have come to hate each other... honestly because, after 26/11 ... everything 'pakistani' is something I cannot tolerate.. even a website - there was one popular music website I used to visit before and now I don't simply because!

but I am just sad at how things turned out...it is no different today than that day of the train from lahore to amritsar...we nurture hatred...wish that could change.. and people like sohail make it worse by making such mindless statements on television!!!!vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04566887115654297664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8234679178553337123.post-11966257252476665542010-02-09T16:24:33.142+05:302010-02-09T16:24:33.142+05:30@Perplexed - Indians don't harbor a blanket ha...@Perplexed - Indians don't harbor a blanket hate for all Pakistanis. We have issues with their government that harbors & funds terrorists against our country, and with those Pakistanis who engage in vitriolic talk against us. It's all over YouTube, as you mentioned. Neither am I propagating war - I'd be the last one to do that. But I'm fully in support of cutting off all ties with our "great neighbor" (in SRK's language) until they stop trying to reduce my lot to rubble. Though I wonder if you'd still have the same feelings on the issue as you have now had you lost someone on 26/11 yourself. No offence.

@Moonshine - I have a couple of very close Pakistani friends...friends that I made in college. We don't have even an iota of hard feelings towards each other. WE represent the common people you're referring to. My point was that we need to take a hardline stance against the government of that country - they need to stop funding terrorists against India while they ostensibly want to engage in "friendly" talks with us. Short of war, the only way to do that is to cease ALL ties with them, which will have financial repurcussions. Unless we hit them financially, they're not going to learn. I love cricket...and I absolutely love Rahat Fateh Ali Khan...but I'm willing to sacrifice the privilege to see their game/music if it helps bring about an end to terrorism.

@Saltwater Blues - I totally agree with you. It's not as simple as "we're all good & they're all bad". But the fact is, some of them are spreading terror in our country while their government looks the other way. Or worse, puts its hands up & says, "Sorry, they're non-state actors. They're not our responsibility." And as I've mentioned earlier - I'm not in favor of sanctions only in sports. We should stop engaging with them in every manner possible till their government wakes up & takes notice. Because, you know, it's not only about politics anymore. It's about the security of an entire nation of a billion plus people.Scarletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08909702073286784203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8234679178553337123.post-29773285390563766252010-02-09T09:20:13.739+05:302010-02-09T09:20:13.739+05:30Indo-Pak politics goes so much deeper than 'th...Indo-Pak politics goes so much deeper than 'they're the bad guys, we're the good guys'.
