Indian Hypocrisy Shines Through Yet Again

Just what is wrong if Mr Obama is against outsourcing jobs to India?

He is the President of the United States, it's his responsibility to worry about the rising unemployment levels and protect jobs in his country.

The United States government is doing what a good government is supposed to do - care for its citizens and ensure their well-being. It's OUR problem if our economy is so heavily dependent on outsourcing, not theirs.

There really is no reason for Indians to criticize him. How would we react if people from other Third World countries start emigrating to India for better jobs? We can't even tolerate people from UP & Bihar moving to Mumbai to work!

I can understand politicians jumping on to the anti-Obama wagon - they are populists. But why is the media and other educated thought leaders criticizing Obama for his anti-outsourcing stance? Why are we so eager to show to the world time & again what hypocrites we really are?

and Moonshine, the fact that he jived to a Koli Dance & ate yakhni biriyani for God's sake...there's nothing wrong for Obama looking after India...the problem is when people start thinking that his visit is the best thing to have happened to India ...and I am seeing a lot of that...and didn't like sitting in the tarmac for an hour while his copters landed before he came to sell his planes...

Guys, I like Obama. I agree the media circus is a bit much, we're falling all over ourselves like we do whenever some international celebrity is visiting India. But he IS the President of the United States after all.

Scarlett, I too like Obama!!! But this overwhelming analysis of him doing anything, even visiting the loo was a bit too much!!! I really fail to understand why we fawned so much over them!!! I agree with Knife here...

We need to remember whatever we have achieved as a country, that is thanks to us and not to anyone else!!! We need to believe is us and then talk from that standpoint instead of looking for ratification of our status from someone else!!!

Debatable point there, Moonshine -- Right since Independence whatever we have "achieved" is with a little help from our friends! What would the Indian IT industry be reduced to if not for US business? Same with the outsourcing industry. We need them as much as they need us. Obama talks of taking jobs back, but the truth is that is not and will never happen. He is a politician after all - he has to say something. Just like the morons here who criticize him for saying that.
